Publer alternative
A Publer alternative for when the Google profile is the whole job
Publer is one of the cheapest good social schedulers, with a free plan, a visual calendar, and Google Business Profile posting next to a dozen other networks. If you mostly need posts to go out on time, it does that well for very little. It does not answer Google reviews, watch the profile for changes, or help when a profile is suspended. Those are the parts GMB Helper.ai was built for.

What Publer does well
Publer has a free forever plan for 3 accounts, paid plans priced per account from a few dollars a month, and every 10th account free. On Google Business Profile it schedules updates, events, offers, and photos from a drag-and-drop calendar, and the same post can go to other networks at the same time. Paid plans take up to 500 posts at once from a CSV file, the Business plan adds recurring posts and post recycling with text variations, AI Assist writes captions with a brand voice per workspace, and a two-step approval flow lets clients sign off. It publishes to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, and WordPress.
What is different about GMB Helper.ai
GMB Helper.ai does one platform and goes deep on it. Posting is the start: each photo you upload becomes one update post written for its location and never reused, and you can write update, event, and offer posts by hand with a button and a time in the location’s own time zone. Reviews are answered in each client’s voice as they arrive, with Hybrid mode holding 1 to 3 star replies for a person. Every profile is checked against Google daily. And when a profile is suspended or hit with fake reviews, a case drafts the appeal or the report and files it on Google’s forms through the GBP Autopilot extension.

Pricing
Publer
Free forever for 3 social accounts. Professional starts at $5 a month and Business at $10 a month, each with 1 social account and 1 user, and both go up with every account and team member you add; for every 9 accounts, the 10th is free. Yearly billing takes 20% off. Professional comes with a 7-day trial and Business with a 14-day trial (read 2026-10-20).
GMB Helper.ai
Standard $399/month for up to 10 profiles and 3 users. Growth $1,499/month for up to 100 profiles and Scale $4,999/month for up to 500, both with unlimited users. Owners from $99/month for one profile. 7-day free trial, no card.
Publer is much cheaper, and for posting alone it is the right buy. Its price depends on how many accounts and members you add, so run your own location count through its calculator; starting at $5 and $10 for one account, it will come in well under our plans for most portfolios. What the difference pays for here is everything that is not a post: replies, daily checks, and the recovery cases.
The same bad week
A client’s profile is suspended on a Tuesday and four fake reviews land on Thursday
With Publer
Publer does not read or answer Google reviews, so the four reviews are found in Google’s own dashboard and reported there, one at a time. It does not watch the profile for changes and has no reinstatement workflow. The scheduled posts are the part Publer handles; the appeal is yours to research and file on Google’s form, with documents gathered over email, and tracking both problems happens in a spreadsheet.
With GMB Helper.ai
The daily check raises the suspension the day it happens and pauses posting on that location. The reinstatement case collects the paperwork, checks it against the profile and the website, drafts the appeal, and files it with the GBP Autopilot extension. The reviews are flagged as they land, held from automatic replies, cased together as one attack, reported and appealed from your browser, and tracked to a removed or kept outcome. You get an email at each step and a reminder if Google goes quiet.
Pick Publer if
- You need posts on Google and on social networks, from one calendar, for the lowest price.
- You want a free plan, or you pay per account and manage only a few profiles.
- Reviews and recovery are handled somewhere else, or are not part of your service.
Pick GMB Helper.ai if
- You want every Google review answered in the client’s voice, with low ratings read by a person first.
- You want to hear the day a profile changes, loses a review, or gets suspended.
- You want suspension appeals and fake review reports drafted and filed, not left to a help article.
Switching
Moving a portfolio over
- 1Keep Publer for Facebook, Instagram, and the other networks if you post there for clients. GMB Helper.ai only works on Google Business Profiles.
- 2Connect the client Google accounts in GMB Helper.ai and import the locations.
- 3Stop scheduling Google posts in Publer for those profiles so none gets two sets of posts, then set the posting days and brand voice per location.
- 4Set reply mode to Hybrid, upload photos for the schedule, and turn on daily change alerts and review removal alerts.
The honest verdict
Publer is the better buy if posting is the job: a free plan, a low price per account, a visual calendar, CSV uploads, and a dozen networks. GMB Helper.ai is the better tool if the Google profile itself is the job: reviews answered, every field checked daily, and suspensions and fake reviews handled as cases. They do different work, and Publer for social with us on Google is a sensible setup.
Questions
Straight answers.
Does GMB Helper.ai have a free plan like Publer?
No. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial with no card, then a paid plan sized by profile count. Publer’s free plan covers 3 accounts and is a good way to start posting.
Does GMB Helper.ai post to social networks?
No. It only works on Google Business Profiles. If you schedule Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn for clients, keep Publer for those.
Can GMB Helper.ai answer Google reviews automatically?
Yes. New reviews are picked up within minutes and answered in the business voice. Auto mode posts every reply, Draft mode holds every reply for approval, and Hybrid posts the 4 and 5 star replies and holds 1 to 3 stars for a person. Reviews that look fake are flagged instead of answered.
