Where does your Google Business Profile rank from your own address?

Type the business, the address, and what a customer would search. We ask Google, in its own ordering, and show your position and the three businesses around you.

One search from your own address, the way Google answers it today. Free, no account, rate limited.

How this works

We find your profile on Google from the name and address, then run the search a customer would type with the map centred on your address, and report where you land in Google’s own ordering, plus the three businesses above or around you.

It is one point. Rank changes block by block, which is why agencies use a grid of points for a true picture. This tells you whether the profile is in the game at all.

What a single point tells you

Google ranks local results on relevance, distance, and prominence, and distance is measured from the person searching. A search run from your own address is the most favourable point there is: if you are not in the top 20 here, you are not in the top 20 anywhere, and the problem is the profile, not the competition. If you are in the top three here, the question becomes how far from the business that holds, which is what a grid of points across the service area answers.

How we find your profile

We look the business up on Google from the name and address you give, so the name should match the listing and the address should be the one on the profile, or the city for a service-area business. Then we run your search term with the map centred on that point and read where your profile falls in the list Google returns. The three businesses at the top are shown with their rating and review count so you can see who is actually winning the search.

What moves the number

A correct primary category and true secondary categories for relevance. Reviews answered, photos posted every week, updates published, complete hours and services for prominence. Profiles that go quiet slide, and profiles that stay active hold their place. That weekly work is what GMB Helper.ai runs on its own, and the overview reports the calls, directions, and clicks that follow.

Questions

Why does my rank change when I search from my phone?

Because Google ranks by distance from the person searching, and personalises results for a signed-in account. This check searches from your business address with no account, which is the fairest single point. Agencies use a grid of points for the full picture.

What does it mean if I am not in the top 20?

Google did not return your profile for that search at your own address. That usually points to a category or name problem, or a profile that is unverified or suspended. Run the suspension risk check next.

Is this Google’s real ordering?

Yes. We ask Google for the search results with the map centred on your address, in relevance order, and report where your profile falls. We do not sort by reviews or ratings.

Why only one search term?

Each search costs us a Google API call, and the tool is free. One term, answered honestly, tells you whether the profile is in the game. Inside the product the same work runs on your own profiles.
